1ST- alternator is throwing out sparks from front what could cause this?

2nd- does maf need shielded wire if your extending. the ecu is in limp mode and according to boostcruising the maf could be the problem. the wiring has been checked 3 times its giving out proper signal. the motor starts up (SOUNDS SICK TOO) FIRST TIME. but it then starts to cut out, spray starter fluid on the filter and it comes back to life.

3rd. no throttle signal. which could be the cause of maf. i did switch over to ka24e tb.

4th. does anyone have pics of plugs next to fuse box that are in use and ones that arent.

thanks

I would also like to know if the wires, when extended. have to be shielded to the maf. Also how do you know when the ecu is in limp mode?

Yes, the MAF wires need to be shielded.

will it cause the maf not to read correctly? do you have to shield the hot wires or do you have to do grounds too?

Where else can you get shielded wire from? I know you can get some from the junk yard, but I'd rather get new wire so I know it is good. Home depot doesn't have shielded wire.

Really? The one here has it next to that big spool of wire.

I looked at all the spools of wire and didn't see any. I also asked one of the workers their.

Can I get a pic of what shielded wire you got? Then I can see if I can find it there. I need to get some asap so I can finish this swap.

damn! these late nights can cause you to miss things. the o2 sensor was in just not wired up. man did not realize how much the ecu relied on this sensor. that is why my car was running rich, no maf signal, and ecu was in loop mode and my engine was stalling. just need to reinstall driveshaft and check timing.
