Sometimes when my '01 I30 sits overnight and the next morning is extremely cold, the driver's side window won't go down. It will start to go down and appear to get stuck. Pushing the switch up and down a few times will often be enough to free it, and then it will work normally. Is doing this going to damage the window motor?

Probably will end up breaking something if you keep doing that. I would either wait till your car warms up to try it our to not bother. Also have you gotten any snow or water down there?

Water definitely froze somewhere in the window channels. I can't imagine it damaged anything simply because it stopped automatically when it encountered resistance and once the car warmed up the windows went up and down properly.
