Unfortunately my I30 did not come with HID headlamps, so I am now looking for something whiter than my stock halogens. I know Sylvania Silverstars are an option, I had them in my old G20 and they worked great but seemed to only last about a year and a half before burning out (though that could have been in part due to the car's age). Are there any other good options out there for a brighter headlight bulb? I'm looking for more brightness primarily and a whiter color would be nice too.

Without doing a HID conversion, Silverstars are as bright (and white) as you can get that I'm aware of.

I hate SilverStars. I put them on my X's Estate and they were relatively no better than the factory bulbs. Nowhere near the output of HID's.

Look around at salvage yards for a wrecked '00-04 and grab the factory HID's.

How hard would headlights off of an I35 be to install? I've read the blurbs on Maxima.org but I still don't get a good sense of how tough this would be. It strikes me that it shouldn't be too hard since the car was designed for them.

As far as the Silverstars go Sylvania apparently just came out with something called Silverstar Ultra which is even brighter so I may try those first.
