I have a 2000 I30. Roughly two months ago, I finally had the opportunity to put new rear calipers on it, after the old calipers had started leaking fluid out of the piston seal (right rear) and simply freezing (left rear). I also replaced the right rear brake hose, as my thinking was that everything should be replaced for a fresh start (I was unable to replace the left rear brake hose because the line nut was getting rounded off and I did not wish to potentially break something and require an all new brake line, and the pads and rotors needed to be replaced anyway).
Fast forward to today. Having noticed that the brake fluid level seemed to be dropping faster than it should be (I have OE spec ceramic pads on it, so they shouldn't be wearing very aggressively), I looked under the car, and to my surprise and disappointment, discovered that the left rear caliper had a coating of fluid on it that was most definitely not water (it has not rained or snowed here in a few days), coming from the brake hose connection on that caliper. Needless to say, I'm not very happy.
I was aware going in that A33s had issues with the rear calipers (this is the 3rd set the car has had), but this is getting a bit ridiculous (and a bit scary). Is there any permanent/long term fix? Why was no TSB issued?
