Long time reader, never really posted.

Thought id start a thread to bounce ideas are in and show people what im up to downunder.

I bought a 1993 A31 Cefiro that me and my mate built while he owned it. It was originally RB25DE Auto, since then its been converted to manual and while my friend owned it we fitted the RB20DET.

He then blew the motor after not upgrading the fuel pump and i helped him to a full rebuild.

He also thought it was a good idea to fit a T3/T4 chinese turbo and chinese manifold.

He had terrible problems with tuning and getting it on the road so he gave up, parked it on his lawn and left it there for 16 months. After messing around with a GZ10 Soarer, i decided i wanted something cheap to upgrade that i can go try do some skids in (drifting) on the track.

After overlooking his car for weeks, one day sitting in his loungue looking over his front lawn, i remembered what was hiding under his tarp. Offered him $1300 USD, and towed it home.

This is how i got it

Lowered on King springs, factory shocks, handled like a lemon, didnt make boost until 4500rpm, rubbish rubbish tune and crunchy gearbox.

So i decided to bin the chinese crap and tig up my own manifold.

Sorry, cell pictures

My seat, and table 17"x7.5" chair, 17"x13" table...

I wnt for a IHI HT-18 RX7 turbo, with a GT28 rear housing fitted. Looks little compared to the last one, but the car drives FAR farrr better. Skids well.

I also fitted D2 adjustable suspenion, Shimmed R200 diff, HICAS lock bar, custom made blow off valve, Mean shifter, and Enkie 15"x7's

I also have a RB25DET Stagea as a tow/daily as we have pretty strict road laws so i cant drive my cefiro on the road until i sort Certification for the mods i have done.

I just finished building a megasquirt to run piggy abck and i intend to road tune it over the next 2 weeks, then dyno it when i get enough $$.

May fabricate a ITB manifold for my intake with RB26 TB's in the future, but road legal, some skids and maybe some tires are definately one the cards.

cheers,
Nic

Hes actually pretty stoked cause he just lost interest in all cars completely, and he thinks its rad that im finishing it off the way it should be done.

I also have 4 pot front, and 2 pot rear calipers which i intend to use with my 4 stud setup so i can keep rolling on Oldschool JDM wheels.

Anyone had much of a play with Megasquirt on RB's?

Couldnt save that manifold man. Was just the same trademe crap.

Steampipe is bullet proof. Id have made a equal length manifold but i wanted it on the road as fast and cheap as possible, without sacrificing reliability.

Car will be up for sale soon, being evicted from our house and i wont have anywhere to store it at our new place :(
