Hello,

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case they wanted to purchase a Whiteline front stabilizer bar:

If you set it to the stiffest setting, the bar hangs pretty damn low to the ground. How low? Well, I turned off the road to pull into a gas station and had to diagonally cross a gutter. I hit it going about 20 MPH and heard this ka-pow! followed by the car bucking briefly. I pulled up to the pump, hopped out, got on my knees in front of the car and started yelling like a crazy man........

When the suspension compressed, the stabilizer bar caught the lip of the gutter and folded backward......maxing out the allowed travel, completely deforming the upper brackets and putting a 15mm diameter dent across the front of the oilpan!!! Luckily the oil pick-up wasn't bent so the engine is still being lubricated.........but damn!

I'll have to hit the junkyard this weekend for new brackets. The poly bushings were fine but I had to cut through the brackets with a Dremel tool to get the stabilizer bar off........

240's ride pretty low to begin with, but at least now I've learned my lesson......

I always drive very slow when pulling in and out of driveways, and Ive still managed to scrape my front lip a few times, can't imagine what would happen going 20mph.

Hey jeansguy, how much has your car been lowered?

Hey,

It's been lowered by 1.75 inches all around. Not too stupid by "riced out" standards but low enough to up the par on handling and cornering.

I'm running KYB adjustable shocks with Whiteline springs.......

My whiteline bars rock. I have front and rear on a non-lowered 98. Best suspension mod I could have done knowing that i have no plans to lower the car. They could come with better install instructions though.....

Camel's right!

The bars themselves are awesome and they completely changed the way the car handles. The bushings were/are absolutely fine.

The instructions do suck, but once you get under there it's easy to figure out.

see, i had seen a review written by an Auto-Xer. Said he set his whitelines on hardest setting and drove hard for a bit, said the bushings were all messedup, that the bar was pulling off of them.. I will search for it.. but i honestly have no idea where it was.. even had pictures.

He probably didn't have them put together right because of the crappy instructions.(Hehehe...)

The linkages are a little strange when you first look at them.

Hey Structure!

Thanks for the offer but I already managed to finagle a pair off of a junked S13 fastback yesterday!
