so my "rebuild" is finally over and the engine is in the car and starting!...well some what anyway . With the help of the few people around here that know what an SR is and the generous members on here it ran this morning8) but not for long...
1. almost certin my vaccume lines are in order, i blocked off the coolant lines to the TB. upper left to BG and upper right to a "T" = BOV & EBC to wastegate for signal? the PCV connects to vaccum almost under it to the mani source. other it blocked off...
2. i AGAIN pulled the VC to recheck timing and it was on par, but after the looksy it fired up again! idles really ruff like the coilpacks arent right? but i know they are.. there also grounded and getting power. (to everything in the bay for that matter) it gets fuel and spark, and i can hear the oL walbro kickin over in the rear.
3. just replaced the starter and went threw the hole harness looking for any errors. THIS motor ran in THIS car for two years...so it shouldnt be anything electrical. all the fuel lines are new and hoses replaced.
4. i was told i could up the LOW fuel % on the safc and maybe get it to tern over better and i did and it started better but stumbles from 1k to about 2 and a half then it run fine till about 5K then cuts out blows off ( ) and shuts down. it wont turn over well enough to catch again untill i adjust the CAS for half an hour...puff some nice smoke rings thanks to the full Trust system but blue smoke soon follows. im thinkin just being fresh and all the assembly lube hopefully lol.
5. with everything iv'ed searchd for about timing iv'e seen alot of people say the same symptoms mine is producing but i KNOW mine is set, & i got some nice arm pump trying to tern it over with a socket so i could double check the links lining up, so im sure theres compression in this beast.
any ideas or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated, i can get pics of the bay or really any shots that are needed for that matter. help me get this thing on the road!!
