I just finished putting my engine back together last night and isntalling a new walbro fuel pump (255lph) but to my dismay, it was still getting jerky up around 5.5k, now that I am running on all 4 cylinders tho my Wideband is a little bit more acurate... turns out when I start to get on it my A/F drops below 9 which is the lowest my wideband can go... figueres, wierd part is that my current fuel map has already been leaned out a little from stock, and at low TP it works just fine... anyways back to the editor :rolleyes

and make sure that damn loop with the cold startup and pressure control junk is getting power. that will cause you to be running somewhere around 5-6: 1 air/fuel, which is appauling.

Loop? what are you referring to?

I've been hoping I could eliminate some of the gimmicky stuff on the CA, the whole intake / vacuum thing is crazy complicated.

Yea, that's the reason Nissan did away with ECCS. It worked well, and they idled great, but when something went it was expensive and problems could be hard to track down.

I have like 3 vaccume lines on my engine right now, no coolant runs through my plenum, and it stays pretty cool no matter how much I drive it

well removing the variable intake shaft and plugging all the holes is a good place to start, plugging all the holes in between the runners and on the sides, pulling the idle air controll crap off and sealing the holes in the side of the plenum(I used two penies and some epoxy) make sure that seals well... a bead of silicon around the outside will do if you aren't sure the epoxy is sealing, the ecu couldn't care less about the idle crap

I don't have power going to mine anymore, I just zipped tied up the connector by the hole in the firewall.

Is that why I am having cold start and a rich smell to my exhaust problems?????

Notchback, if you removed all of that, then how does the car idle? Or even start? Do you have cold start problems? I'm missing one valve right now and it will barely start if the temp is below 20degrees, and it WON'T stay started. I have to do it 2 or three times. I'm intreigued as to how you got that to work.

I will try and take some pics with my friends cam, I dunno what I can actually get pics of as getting the camera in a position to see most of this stuff is kinda difficult, but when it comes down to it the only think you need hooked up to vacuum/boost is your FPR wastegate and compressor bypassit always starts and idles constant except when cold its a hundred or two RPM lower, even cold

Ok so what did you take off? The big valve under the throttle body? One tube goes into the intake tube right before the thottle body, then it splits and the other tube goes into the side of the intake manifold by the idle adjustment screw.

I want to take this valves off and lop or cap off the left over hole. Just wondering if this is what you got rid off.

back on the subject of running rich, i managed to overload the cat with enough fuel so that some got through and i got a massive flame out the back of the car. it was the coolest thing my car has ever done. i was bouncing all over the place with excitement.

Should be easy to shoot flames with that. I did it all the time with my setup.

I have 3" everything. At night, I can look in my sideview mirror and shoot a flame and see the background light up really bright.

My friends who follow me say when I shoot flames it looks like a diamond shape then dissapears.

I would like to catch this on video sometime :-)
