Holy SH** the screws that hold the unit on to the bracket won't budge? They are Phillips head. Anyone have to remove their unit in the trunk and how the hell did you get the screws off? I've tried WD-40, the right screw driver... everything. I don't want to strip the screws.

Oh BTW I'm replacing the unit w/ a new one because I keep getting NAV DISC Wrong version Error when Nav is in use after about an hour. I got a sweet deal on a new one w/ all the software already on it. Plug and play. Saved myself about $5000.

Are you getting an OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket what kind?

No it's OEM. The unit ties into the memory of Audio/Video and the Voice Recognition System. Aftermarket will not work. Very specialized. Has to be OEM and the unit through the dealer is over 5 gs with software.

Mine already came with a unit, it was just malfunctioning, just the navigation part was. Everything eose was working fine.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.I don't think you can just add the control unit and have the nav system. There are harnesses and tons of other stuff you need. GPS unit etc, antenna. So even if you scored the unit cheap like I did(which was ony one), it would still probably cost you a bundle to get your vehicle wired and all the other stuff it ties into, Voice recognition, audio, etc. This is why the older M's w/ the nav are more expensive, then ones that came w/ out.

Back to the screws... Anyone have a trick to get them loose? My pneumatic drill wouldn't even loosen them. I don't want to strip the screw nor have to drill them out. Service manual says jsut use a phillips screwdriver. <shrugs>
