Hey folks, so I know, most of us opted for an aftermarket navigation setup in lieu of the technology package...HOWEVER, for those of you that have the technology package, and would like to hook up an audio / video source to your factory touch screen monitor, check this out...I found this at PAC-AUDIO.com a while back when searching for installation instructions for the PAC-SWI steering wheel control unit. read below for specs......

****DISCLAIMER***I have never used or installed this product, and can not verify that it will work for the 2007-2008 Altima nav units, so by all means PLEASE CONTACT PAC_AUDIO and find out if this works, or if they have a unit that will work with the current model Altimas. I just thought this might be helpful for some of you with the tech package!

Nice! Lowest price I could find is 423$ for VCI-NIS/AV http://www.electotronics.com/i...99277

Too bad I have absolutely no use for it, and that if I want sound I need to plug in using cheapo composite cables instead of VGA,Component or HDMI/DVI ...

well at least its good to actually have this converter box available, having choice is good!

VGA, Component, HDMI... the resolution on your screen isn't good enough to notice the difference! These inputs are pointless in a vehicle unless you actually have an HDTV/monitor installed to take advantage of them

then I think It would be better to just take one's laptop in the car and a car power inverter to keep it running. I've got a 15.4 widesreen one with a WXGA resolution (720p) and built-in dvd player. Cost me 645 US$ with all taxes last year. So that's why I think it's not worth it for me to invest in something at 420$ (plus shipping) that will give me less than dvd quality and potentially be dangerous (checking dvds while driving lol, jk! I'm not crazy ) . Heck, even portable dvd players are like 200$ now with bigger screens and higher resolutions. But for cool factor, I say nothing can top having OEM stuff hacked

anyways great stuff you found!

Thanks Tyler,

In regards to the computer in the car, yeah, I guess it could be done, which is why you may want the inputs listed, however, being that this is about watching external units on your factory screen, and the fact that the resolution on your factory screen is the limiting factory, it still becomes a moot pint! why make a module with inputs beyond the scope of the application.. doesn't make sense!

Riigghtt, and watching dvd's on the computer to the right of you is safer?? I think you're all of the place with your post, it just doesn't follow logic!
