In your professional opinion, how hard would it be to make fiberglass interior pieces using the original ones as molds? Also, how difficult/expensive would it be to recover my stock dash? I have a working HUD and I kinda wanna keep it. Sadly, my interior is brown and I want black. You seem to be more or less the interior pro, so your advice would me much appreciated.

If needed, I can go more into detail later. Im in a rush atm, so this will do lol.

Dude! Effin' NO! Brown interior is sooo rare! What color is the exterior? If it's white, a clean brown interior would be sooo pimp...

Ooo, a composite related question! Big mistake to try and make a one off mold of the interior pieces. My entire interior used to be brown before the owner before me painted it with that vinyl interior paint. It's actually one of the cleanest/modern looks because it has a satin finish. You can only tell when you take the pieces off and the back is still brown.

I would advise against fiberglassing the dash unless you plan to have a real custom look to it and copying me.

You have to go VIP style, but brown interior can be done really nicely and stand apart from all the othr cookie cutter looking 240's...

I agree that a brown interior can look good. Get nice dark brown leather z33 seats, matching leather accents. Then a wood grain steering wheel and shift knob. Obviously it it is a different style but it can be done, and look nice.

I dont want to fiberglass the dash, I mean recovering it with vinyl to make it black. I can get a black dash, but I cant find one with a HUD. Im not hugely attached to it, but it would be nice to keep it since its pretty rare.

As for dying and painting. I dont know much about dying, Ive searched but cant come up with much in the way of answers, pics, etc. Painting Ive heard doesnt hold up well with time. Whats you experiences?

And no, I have no interest in keeping the interior brown. Right now the car used to be the Champagne Gold, but the original owner had it painted, rather badly, and it looks like puke tan now. So, I will be repainting it either a dark blue or black down the road.

The paint it holding up perfectly and sits in the sun all day and hasn't faded the least bit. Just don't clean it with chemicals (armor all, etc.) just use a damp towel.Be sure to use a name brand interior paint and just make sure it says vinyl dashboards AND plastic pieces. UV and heat resistance is a + because your dash can easily see *150F on a sunny day.

i did a little research and decided that a brown interior wouldnt be too bad. The black with the brown really helps... i was thinking solid brown.

and now a lot nicer example of a brown interior
