Hello All,

I spent the better parts of an afternoon and an evening looking for an answer to a problem I have with my G37 driver's seat. In this process, I found great information regarding the worm gear that drives the seat back and forth.Thank you to Nickoli415 at x.nissanhelp.com for directing us all to http://www.odometergears.com for that worm drive gear-lots of people have had success with that. Unfortunately for me, the problem went deeper than the worm gear and when I took my seat out, I found that the whole doggone plastic motor mount was broken, thus leaving my motor flopping in the wind. I spent 5.5 hours on Sunday afternoon tearing the seat out, inspecting it, putting it back together and putting it back in the car.

According to the FSM, of course, this is not necessarily a replaceable part. You have to buy a $2300 seat, or according to a local body shop, the dealership wants $1500 for the seat cushion frame because nobody deals in individual parts-they all want to sell the whole assembly. Of course. So then, I spent the better part of the next evening searching leads to local body shops, dealers, insurance companies and wrecking yards to search for this seat.

That is where the premise of this whole post comes from. I wanted to let you all out there know about this great site a body shop directed me to-www.car-parts.com, which I did not find in any of the forums. Now the best part, I found a great salvage parts yard in Houston that deals only with Nissan & Infiniti. The guy I spoke to is Danny-#832.467.4400, sorry I don't have a website for him. He was very friendly though and wanted me to understand they deal only with Nissan & Infinity and I thought I would at least pass that on to y'all. Oh, $45 shipping to CA; for 1/2 the seat anyway.

I was able to find a few people locally who have the seat and I will make a decision next week and get this thing fixed.

Happy Driving!

All the info you provided is good but did you ever try to see if your seat is covered by Infiniti warranty by calling customer service or contacting local dealer?

Yes, I did consider that. The warranty is expired.

Hmm, no, I didn't do that. When I found out they wanted from $800-$1500 for a seat, being the DIYer that I am, I thought I could dig into it and fix it myself cheaper. I should know better by now.
So, yeah, I guess I could call consumer affairs. Thanks.
