A/T transmission light on

Hello everyone,

Three days ago, my A/T transmission light started blinking and stayed on. After I went home and parked the car for a night, the next morning it did not come on. However later that next day and since, the A/T light stays lit. I checked the fluid and it is still at level.

Any ideas on what my problem could be?

The car still drives fine.

I did use the search and couldn't find anything.

Thanks for the reply. I think that it is something weird going on because yesterday after driving the car with the light stuck on for a few trips, and after I filled up with gas and went home, I restarted to go on another ride and the light acted normal (stayed on for 2 seconds, then off).

Even today, I used the car for like 5 different trips and the same, the light acted normal. I think my car just likes to screw with me sometimes.

Well, I'll post up some more info if the light acts up and stays on again. Your directions are very helpful and I may try them, but when do you know if you need to run the self diagnosis?

My light has never stayed on for more than the two seconds when starting (except for the recent encounter when it decided to stay on indefinitely for a few days) or flashed more than one time.

You can run self diagnosis anytime. If the light comes on and stays on, pull the code from the ECU.
