I hope I have not asked this before but is the A/T temperature sensor supposed to be somewhat accurate in telling the Transmission Control Unit (TCM) the actual fluid temp?

Trust me I am not too much into the Q anymore. There is nothing else I would drive but I just spend less time on it.
