A sound while reversing

Hello all, I drive a 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE with 57,000 km's on it and everytime I drive in reverse I hear this sound...it sounds like something is cracking and it is coming from the front axle. At first I thought that maybe the arms needed to be changed but when I drive it on the highway it's fine, there are no noises when I'm steering left or right...for some reason in reverse this sound comes out from the front . Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Check your CV boots and see if any are torn. I would also check and see if there are any loose front end parts.
