McCain said several times that Iran, a predominately Shiite country, was supplying the mostly Sunni militant group, al-Qaeda.

In fact, officials have said they believe Iran is helping Shiite extremists in Iraq. Shiite Sunni, whatever.

I was referring more to the parental consent in that it differs state by state. 42 states have laws requiring parental consent or notification in order for a minor to have an abortion.

The present version of the Hyde Amendment requires coverage of abortion in cases of rape, incest, and life endangerment.

That's at the federal level. As I understand it, if states want to cover other reasons, they have to use their funds instead of the federal funds.

You'll see that so far, the courts have overturned the Parental Consent law in 5 states, and cases are pending in most of the other states. Not that I don't agree with the PC laws, in fact, I wish they were all PC states, but the courts don't agree with me.

Don't you find it strange that McCain knew nothing, or recalled nothing, about such a large issue?
