I'm sort of itching to get another G50. Its one of those things... once you get a taste you can never truly leave it alone.

Its also a car that's unreasonably expensive to pay someone to work on, but an amazing value if you DIY. I -know- that injectors will go out, especially because of the ethanol in our gasoline. So, I'm wondering if there is a way for someone with minor back problems to work on a car without experiencing pain?

Is there such thing as a body sling I can hang from the ceiling to reduce back strain?

Good idea.

I often thought of designing something like that. Even a brace or some sort of harness to take some strain off would help.. My lower back kills me leaning into an engine bay.

Why not raise the car on tall ramps/jack stands so you dont have to bend over so much.

Then one cannot reach what one needs to reach.

Go for an old 30's car where the hood panels hinge up to reveal the whole engine free of the fenders.

Not a bad idea, except I'm 5'8" with short arms. I wish I had a skilled mechanic who would work for $50/hr. I don't need a tech, since this forum is more useful than most shops for solving problems. I just need someone to replace broken things. I think the average labor rate here is approaching $115/hr.

When I bought my first Q45 many years ago, I was paying a shop in Washington $45/hr.

I hear ya .

As for the "back breaking effect" of under the hood DIY. Find one that either has new injectors or is priced accordingly and have Wes do all the under hood work .

Here's a plan. Find one in ATL cheap, have it taken to T3, have them hit the big areas and fly in drive it home. You should be good to go for quite some time. Not to mention the lack of salt exposure the GA Q45's benefit from.
