Friend recently sent me this pic he took of my car from sometime last year... It was after I had mocked up one side of the rear flares... stock suspension back on, and about to take it to the body shop to make sure the frame was perfect before I did some more cutting and reinforcing to the chassis. No top, no interior (save for the dash), no glass (save for the windshield)... it's going to be a speedster anyway, so no need for those parts anymore. It was kinda interesting rolling like that on the fwy... lots of confused looks >HAHA<

Want moar pics!

Judging from the few pics I've seen and the info you've given, I like the direction you're going with your vert. I can't wait to see it finished.

man, I remember seeing pics of your car on VIPSC in the s-chassis debate thread(s) and being dissapointed that nothing else had surfaced. I'm really glad to see that its still moving forward as I have found a lot of motivation from your extreme taste!!! keep us updated!!!

Hmmm, I coulda swore I posted some other random pics of the car before... but maybe it was on VSCHere's some pics of what my friend's did with the car one afternoon...I was working on my Q, and they were bored.. so I said... ah, go have some fun with the conv. So they took it to my friend's shop next door, and came back a little bit later sans rear fender, and with a shaved door handle. >HAHA< Past the point of no return right off the bat...

And this was a few weeks later if I remember correctly... decided to mock up an idea for a rear fender (I *do NOT* want to run typical bolt/rivet-on overfenders that anyone can just get off ebay... not to mention they're not wide enough ) Was gonna do the flares in fiberglass...but the decision is they will be metal now, and look a little different from these pics:

Hmmm, and I guess the only other "recent" pic is the first one I posted where I put the stock susp back on the car to drive it... everything since then has been stripped out, and I'm going to try and get around to welding in a hidden cage structure and fleshing out the flares in the next few...

Oh shoot, and while I'm on a posting binge... I still love this gif of my center caps >HAHA<

Ah shoot.. i wasn't sure if i'd posted those same pics here or not. Hmmm, unfortunately nothing new worth seeing other than the car being really high with the stock susp and totally empty of every ancillary component >HAHA<Alright, once the rain stops around here... it'll be time to get cracking on the conv again!

Yep those were the pics I saw. Def. got some serious work going on there.

Oh I forgot to ask, what's going under the hood? And are you going with coilovers or air ride suspension?

Engine will most likely eventually be a VH45... the current KA is in such good running condition though that the drivetrain will probably be one of the last mods... mostly so I can minimize downtime, and maximize cruising fun time. It's a 5sp so that makes things a bit more livable... going to do air on it... maybe a bit sooner rather than later now that I've got a clearer idea of how I want to approach the susp setup. No mcpherson struts

this project has been scrapped. Van had the wheels up for sale a while back. In fact, it seemed like all his projects were being scrapped cause he was selling the wheels off of his Q as well. Its a damm shame.

Damn that sucks. I guess he hit hard times or something. I really wanted to see how his vert would turn out.

WOW, I missed out on a lot...!! >HAHA<I actually have been working on some business ventures overseas, so I've been reprioritizing a lot of things... and that includes letting some toys go. Probably gonna end up selling some of my other cars too to clear up space since I'm gonna be pretty busy... and probably/hopefully in-and-out of the country quite a bit later on. To keep this post thread-relevant, I've been meaning to give the S13 conv and some parts to my friend at the bodyshop on the condition that he finishes it up according to some ideas I had for it... albeit in a much simpler and more sedate fashion, so that's why the WEDS were for sale...let's just say, if he takes up my offer, it's gonna be smooooth. Oh yah, speaking of the WEDS, they're back up for sale... I forgot I still had them till I was going through storage the other week!

I know this is an old thread but I just picked up a vert and I'd like to see pictures of your custom wide fenders and none of the photo's are working.... I'm considering doing something similar with mine....
