Ok, maybe its pathetic, and horrible, and dishonoring to the Nissan name, but I have never heard of an FJ20, and yet today I've seen two topics about this engine. One about a supercharger from japan...and the other was posted in this section...which I was trying to search for info on it...but only found the one topic about swapping one into a R32.
ANYWAY...could someone enlighten me on the brief history of the FJ20 and make me feel better about being part of this holy organization?
A sad pathetic but none-the-less pertinent question...about FJ20's.

The FJ20 is a 2 liter 4 banger with chain-driven dual overhead cams and solid lifters. It came in both N/A and turbo versions the greatest production car version was the Turbo-C in the R30 Skyline RS-X. There was a 2.4 liter racing version that were you to actually have Nissan geeks would give you their daughters virginity to have.The FJ20 was one of the baddest motors of the 80s and they can still put a hurting on most rivals to this day. Thank you soooo much. I have always LOVED the 510's, but didn't know if there was a good calling for aftermarket parts or not. I take this site as a yes...well at least an option for a good swap.

I just thought I would drop my two bits in here as well. ( I own one , I might as well.)
The FJ series of engines started with the FJ24 which was built for nissan's rally car in the 80's. The 240rs. Sadly the Audi Quattro came out the same year the 240rs debuted and mopped the floor with all of it's 2wd competitors. In an effort to recoup some of the large amounts of money dumped into the development of the FJ24 they de-stroked and de-bored the Fj24 to make the FJ20 and crammed it into a few production cars, Like the S12 Silvia and the R30 Skyline.
I'll add a bit more tomorrow but I have to run tonight.
