I am going to install a sr20det redtop motor very soon. I am about to purchase a copper koyo radiator. my friend advises me to keep the fan clutch. well my question is that isnt the stock fan off a sr20det hit the koyo radiator? isnt it to far out ward and will interfere with the radiator?

No, it shoould not hit the radiator. If you use the thicker ridaitor that koyo offers you should remove the foam strip that goes between it and the core support for clearance. But if it is the copper stock replacement then it shouldn't matter.

The copper is really thin. No clearance issues at all.

You'll be fine. Although you should swap the SR20 fan for a set of nice electric fans.

It's too bad nobody has any of those rads now. Koyo USA says about 4 months.

I bought an aluminum for $295 shipped. Not much more than a Koyo, and I should have it next week.

I think the coppers are hard to find, not the aluminum.

remember if you use the stock mechanical fan, you need the fan shroud.
