some info about your car and set up might help, I have a vertical flow 18 x 9 x 3.5 treadstone in my 71 240Z wtih the L28ET and a T3O4E, I had a cheap ebay 18 x 12 x 3 crossflow and it sucked, my Z32 runs stockers

Sidemounts are more then enough for stock set up. Z1, Ash, and Greddy are just a few good upgrade choices.

Now 99% of Z tuners will bash the front mount cause it will actually have a slight pressure drop but for higher boost applications it's actually good. Some will also say it's bad cause it'll make the car run hotter but it's not true either. I run one on my TTZ and haven't seen a single tempature change.

Unless you're going very heavy into a build side mount intercoolers will be more than enough for you. HKS, Greddy, ARC, or similar will work great for you with stock or upgraded turbos. I don't really recommend a FMIC unless you go all out. If you do, and you go FMIC, I recommend HKS. Many of the "affordable" fmic's on the market for the Z32 are junk. Make sure you educated yourself as much as possible before spending your cash on one

duh I wasn't even thinking that I was in the Z32 section, I know of at least one car putting 500whp with stock intercoolers, I have heard of some people complain of running hot with the front mounts as it restricts the air to the radiator

Stock intercoolers? Do you mean sidemount intercoolers? I've never seen anyone make over 400 on stock IC's. They become heatsoaked and ineffective pretty easily.

nope, stock I/C's, although he's not quite to 500whp, he was having some fuel issues wiht the vafc (too lazy to go full stand alone) it was pig rich up top and I think he maxed like 480whp, we have another dyno day in november so we'll see if he made it to 500whp yet

so then maybe something like this would be ideal with the upgrade piping and some JWT 700BB Turbos from JWT?

I wouldn't even consider a front mount unless you had upsized turbo's, I still think the upgraded sidemounts are better, too many ricers just want a front mount for the sake of show, the only real benefit I see is the potential to shorten the piping
