so ok i have a broken stud between the exhaust and turbo manifold (where they meet) its the back left next to the block. is there anyway that i can remove that stud through the top. or do i really have to take my turbo all the way off to replace the stud.

It's not like guessing how many fingers over the phone.

There's no way to effectively get the stud out through the top of the manifold. You'll have to remove the mani and turbo. The main reason is that once you replace the stud, you need to tighten the nut back down, and that can only be done with either the motor out of the car or the mani/turbo out of the car.
