I received my G37 brochure in the mail today and I have a question for G37 owners.

For those that have the 7 speed automatic what is the exact RPM at 80MPH?

For those that have the 6 speed manual what is the exact RPM at 80 MPH

On my 2006 G35 6 Speed at 80MPH it is exactly 3k RPM

I expect to be test driving soon but doubt if I can get the answer on a test drive?

Pulled some gear and tire data and this is what I found.

At 2700 RPM with no slip (slush boxes should slip a little bit I would assume), the car is going 82 MPH.

At 3000 RPM, the 6MT is going 81.

Getting actual owners to chime in will be more accurate, but I thought I'd give you a quick ball park.

Telco - Unfortunately I only have a 3 mile commute so I dont have an immediate answer regarding speed and RPM question (and, quite franlkly I am a bit put off by the fact that you would ask anyone to drive 80 MPH here in the US ). J/K

But, you should absolutely test drive the model car you want to own EXACTLY as you would during real life conditions.

During the test drive of a G Vert, I though the sales guy was gonna $hit his pants and yank the door handle off... I dont think the Infinity guys are accustomed to the kind of spirited driving that I enjoy. But hey - how else are you really gonna determine if the car will truly meet your needs.

Good luck with your decision.BTW - 6MT FTW!!!

Only if it can get better fuel economy than the 7AT. I'm pretty sure that's Telco's motivation behind this thread.

Come on Howard, you have to get the 6MT. The Manual is rated 17/25 and The auto 18/26. The Hybrid is rated at 34/30.

Drove on the freeway earlier today at 80mph and my tach read 2700 RPM. I have the RWD with Auto.

I'm a new owner and have 3,000 miles on the car, G37S Coupe AT. I can't address your question directly but if its MPG info you're looking at. I get better MPG if I cruise at 80 than if I do 70 by about 1 MPG. Strange but true.

I paid attention on my drive home today. 80 mph was 2700 rpm.

FAIL!!! Do you hear that Infiniti? FAIL!!!

3000 RPMS at 80 was bad enough. Why do we need to add another 250? Oh that's right...for the extra weight!
