A question about the driver side mirror

Hi, everyone

This my first post in this forum.

I just bought a 2000 INFINITI I30T 2 one week ago, and this morning I found the left mirror was damaged by somebody. Since the insurance does not cover it, I have to fixed it by myself.

I want to buy an OEM one from ebay, and just found this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...123

My quesitions are:1. Does the mirror fitting for 2000 INFINITI I30 have the same shape? I mean if I buy this one online, how I could make sure this one has the same shape as the right one on my car?

2. I just check the damaged mirror and found it has 5 wires. Since I just heared some mirrors for infiniti I30 have 3 or 4 wires, am I right? Or all this knind of mirrors fitting for 2000 I30 has 5 wires?

3. Since my damaged part is just the connection part between the door and the mirror (the mirror is totally intacted), could I bought an OEM one and just replace the damaged part? Does they have the same type and amount screws?

Welcome to NICO.

1.The sale says it will fit. I would check the seller's feedback to see if people have any probelms with fitment. I see that they do have a 30 day return policy, so you wouldn't be totally screwed if something was wrong.

2.I have no idea about the wires.

3.I'm pretty sure you just need to replace the entire mirror assembly.

It seems the OEM mirror I bought is just in the primal color. That means I have to paint it into the silver color. But I am not sure the real color of my car.

I just check an online painting store, there is a kind of "Titanium Silver Met" (KR4) painting for the 2000 infiniti i30. Does it mean I can use any "KR4" painting to do the paint work?

If you look on the firewall in the engine b ay on the passenger side, there will be a vehicle data tag. On that tag will be your paint code. You should be able to take that code to a body shop or paint supply house and get the correct color.

you could always look around a few bone yards. Might get lucky and find one the same color..
