Happy NY Roguers

On a few occasions I've had to slam the brakes to avoid well..meeting my deductible and a ticket.
In doing so, I've always floored the pedal and not pumped it since our Rogues have ABS. What I've felt is that the pedal loosens up if you will, and I can push it even further down almost to the floor. At that point, I feel the pedal tap my foot or click or thump, if you will. Yes, my pads are fine.

Am I braking incorrectly? Am I slamming the brakes the wrong way?
Thanks

When the ABS kicks on in earnest, it will empty its pre-pressurized internal reservoirs and has to rely on foot pressure from the Master to keep functioning. At that point the pulsations from the solenoids locking and unlocking will usually travel back to your foot. That's normal, and it's also normal for a bit of pedal-droop to accompany it.
