I have been thinking about replacing my SE-R with somethin a lil bigger, I love the whole sleeper thing, walk softly and carry a big stick, I have been considering a older CROWN VIC as they can be had for very cheap and they lend themselves to some great upgrades, check out these links.http://www.kennybrown.com/Conv....html

just lookin for somethin different :)

Id consider a cadillac STS....... If you dont like FWD, then maybe a crown vic....... Stil, its ford, and im not a big fan of them although they seem to know a little bit more about drivetrains than GM..... GM in the 90s basically went all FWD, while most of ford and lincoln were RWD..... Too bad they dont last as long....

How much are you looking to spend.......?

This is just simply a project, somethin to have some fun with, I still have me other 2 INFINITIS, I will say however that even though its a FORD you will still get good HP out of it and just like the Q surprise a lot of folks if its done correctly, Im a fan of all makes, I dont just find one make my favorite, each manufacture has somethin good to offer if you pick the right vehicle in the right year. just my opinion. :)

Yes ... the Q45 - the ultimate in High Performance ... gas mileage - LOL.

Easy on the fords guys ..... their Modular DOHC stuff as far as HP per Liter is pretty good - 4 cars in the top 10 Cobra r behind only NSX and Porsche, with the 4.6L and 5.4 dohc mod stuff outputting pretty efficient HP.

But I digress ......

1qckser - nice DOHC 5.4L Lincoln Navigator motors can be had mad cheap - and theres OOOODles of parts and aftermarket for that stuff. Blowers, turbos etc .... 8300 RPM DOHC 5.4L blown .... care less what ya put it in ... traction becomes your last hurdle to mad fun.

Why not a Caprice wagon? They make a BAD ARSE street cruiser, with the SS treatment, 18's and a drop...

The Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and Buick Roadmaster are also killer candidates!

I also second the Chevy Impala SS. Get a 96 and scare the snot out of some stupid ricers! The engine and transmission on those are freaking rock solid. That car is built like a tank.

I never did think of the IMPALA, thats an excellent choice, OK screw the FORD, a BIG nasty black IMPALA with some black 18 inch wheels, a nice all motor 383 small block backed by one of the generals 6 speeds and we are in the game.

There are a lot of Impala SS cars out there wiht superchargers and turbochargers, so you will not be a true "sleeper".

Now a Buick Roadmaster, with a blown 502. That would be a sleeper....

YEAH!!!! :ylsuper

Anytime someone avoids the (F)'d (O)ver (R)ebuilt (D)odge, I'm happy! And no crap from anyone on my Ford bashing... I earned that right with a one plus year bang-my-head-on-a-brick-wall warranty battle over a POS 1990 Mercury Cougar I once owned. I'll never own a ford again... and now that Nissan is developing a full sized truck and SUV, I really can't see a situation where I'd ever buy anything American made again! (yeah, I know the Titan/Armada are built here, but they're designed and speced by Japanese guys who care... :D)

Consider a Cadillac fleetwood brougham......94-96....... Already comes with the LT1, and could make that into a MAJOR sleeper....... Not to mention huge back seats :naughty:

Also, if you did get the brougham (not the standard version), it already comes stock with an external transmission cooler, and can tow up to 5000lbs...... YOu can tow your Q with this puppy....... :D

You can basically do anything to a fleetwood that you can to an impala.... Its all pretty much the same........

actaully the latest trend ive seen is in the caddy fleetwood from 94-96 , seen 2 with camaro 6 speeds swapped in and ss parts thrown everywhere else , 22 feet long, 7k towing capacity, huge interior and its a caddy that keeps up with impalas , not to mention there some of the most beatiful caddys made in the 90s (besides my deville) and i think elwesso had or has one

looks like 98+ ford interceptors can be had fairly cheap too as police departments dont want the time bombs no more and are swtiching to fwd impalas and police tahoes , hitman can give testemony here

I'd go for the Roadmaster wagon, Get the back doors welded shut and smoothed before painting and you'd have one big nasty 2 door. Gut everything behing the front seats and you'd have to be dropping a few hundred pounds - Instant Speed!! The motor may not be as reliable as the Q's V8, but cheap parts and labor for 'em can be found under any shade tree.

Paint it white and get a personlaized tag Amana

Hey if its B and D bodies your into you should check out the Impala SS forums, They cover all of them which include the Impala, Caprice, RoadMaster and the Olds and Fleetwood. I've been activly reading it for the past 2 years and theres not a better source out there when it comes to big rear wheel drive B and D bodies. http://www.impalassforum.com .

Oh Yea! And dont forget that the 94-96 are the best year of any of those because of the LT1 engine and the 260 HP and 330 TQ. And 96 was the only year the Impala got the Floor shifter Tach and Analog gauges instead of digital ones.

P.S. The Impala SS is essentially a 9c1 police Caprice, so u can pick a 95 (best year OBD1) for 2-4 g's and it will have all the performance plus heavy duty hoses, extra chassis reanforcements and the transmission cooler.
