Hello all, I mostly hang around the m35 & m45 forums. Today I get to ask the kind of questions I usually try to help people with.

I recently looked at a 2004 g35 sedan 6MT. I think it received every single option except the navigation - easy to deal with in this age of smartphones.
It has about 160k and is a one owner car.

Not sure how long it had sat on the lot, but the first start had some chatter from the engine that reminded me of the FWD VQ35DE tensioner noises.
Once warm, the car would immediately die if you attempted to start it - guessing idle air issues, easily fixable as well.
Otherwise, the car drove very well, transmission shifted smoothly too. I liked the car quite a lot and I'm only looking because I miss driving manual transmission.

So here's my point of curiosity. The dealership is asking for about $6,750 after cutting thru the fluff. KBB says that one in excellent condition should command about $4,900.
I know blue book is not exactly the bible, but I'd like to see what you guys feel about G sedans. Don't seem as popular as the coupes, but ideal for a family man like me. Trust me, I buy and sell with no regard for blue book values if I'm in love - I own a 2003 m45, and those cars stand proud as a middle finger to book values.
1. Do you guys see them go for more than KBB?
2. Would you sell yours for KBB value or less?
3. Would you pay more than KBB value to buy one?
4. Do you think they've held value well? I know the coupes still command a premium for their ages/mileages.

- Sincerely

I saw a G35 with 143k miles listed here in vegas for 3600. I think you're paying waay too much. $3000 to $4000 is about right, no more.

That sound like a rip-off to me. Also, I am not entirely familiar with G35s this old but I believe with newer models you could not have pretty much every option checked without getting navigation.

Haven't bought it yet - not at that price point. I planted my feet at the blue book value and they stuck at the NADA value, then offered to meet halfway. Fair enough I guess, but a car is only worth what it actually sells for.
Not too many people are sitting around getting excited to drop $6K on a 12 year old car. The few that are able to, and probably can drive a stick, probably want something a little more sporty and with fewer doors.

I'll keep an eye out for manual G sedans all over the States. I'm always open to travelling for the right car.
Thank you both.
