In March of this year my pristine 04 M45 suffered a near fatal injury from a 300 lb piece of an oak tree that fell 70 feet through the sun roof . The car has been expertly repaired to factory condition with a replacement roof panel. 3 months later to date, the car sits with the front and rear glass out waiting on a new headliner that apparently does not exist in the US or Japan. The law requires any manufacturer that sells cars in the US to maintain all components for 10 yrs. Virtually all interior components are subbed out to vendors. Currently, the situation is in determinant. Nothing from Infiniti USA. There is no future date for this M to be complete. I am moving rapidly toward the Insurance commissionerand demanding a TOTAL loss. Any suggestions.

Ouch! I feel for you.

Unfortunately, I cannot think of a solution that would work here ... short of a junk-yard visit for a used car to pull from.

have them reimburse you to have a custom one made with suede or even better, Alcantara! also, you can check with scrap yards that may have one. then you can have them just re-upholster it to original condition.Sorry to hear thisCheers

Unfortunately the GA Lemon Law has a time and mileage exclusion so a new car is out, but damages are in.Why not sue Nissan in Macon Small Claims Court for loss of use.

My son works for GA State Insurance and Fire Safety Comm, however THE OX has no juristiction.

The Courts can get Nissans attentionAt least Nashville and Cool Springs is a closer drive than the old CA address.Allen H. Childs Vice President, Parts and Service for Nissan North America, Inc.

Jack Wilkerson Regional Vice President of the Infiniti South region for Nissan North America, Inc.

Scott E. Becker has been named vice president, legal and general counsel

It appears as King and Spalding [ATL] are Nissan Georgia Counsel:http://www.kslaw.com/portal/se...=2808

Follow this link for the 9 King/spalding partners who might deal with Nissan:http://www.kslaw.com/portal/se..._cp=0

You might call them up and ask how Nissan would like to be served, that should exercise the corporate wheels.

I would suspect that the two of you could come to an agreement that a custom piece could be fabbed up that would meet the needs. I have seen many cars with insane interiors so I would think that any of these sorts of shops could make something that would pass as OEM. Like the prior posts suggested shoot for alcantera or something else cool.

After 3 months of "no one really knows", 2 forceful conversations with Infiniti USA customer service and 3 business days later the headliner is at the repair shop. I wished it didn't have to be this way but it is. Lesson, go HARD and STRONG at this company to get things done.
