Hello this is my first time posting here.I am looking to get a 1990 240sx se it has 186,000 miles on it but the body is in perfect condition and it the engine looks really clean it has had one owner. But i have a few questions for you guys. I would think that rebuilding the engine would be a good idea but what is your thoughts on that.I'm not sure if I want to get a car with that many miles.The second question I have is I would like to turbo it but will be buying some of the parts now and some later.Can I get a new turbo exhaust and use it on a na car for a while?Can I change my pistons to better suit the turbo and still use them on a na car for a while. Do you have any suggestions what I should do if I do end up getting the car. thanks and sorry for the long post.

one owner + clean = sounds good to me.

'tis alot of miles, do a compression test

you can use a turbo exhaust on a N/A motor, but you will lose low-end torque, but gain top-end power. it will also be very loud without a silencer. how loud depends on the size of the piping. dont bother changing the pistons in your 90', until youre looking for big boost. same with other internals.

8.6:1 (stock 90') compression= very good, (holds up to about 15 psi IIRC, WITH APPROPRIATE TUNING!!!)

thanks for your advice ive been the the ka-t forum a lot when trying to decide what car to buy. how big of piping would be good on a car that would be putting out about 200-250 hp?

turbo exhausts are typically 3". that should be fine for that amount of power.
