So I've had my 1992 Nissan 240sx since high school. The body was in terrible shape - bondo all over the place, rust all over the engine bay, salvage title, this weird chow mein smell, etc. The DOHC I thought was the only thing I believed was immaculate, until my friend blew the motor when I let him drive it. So I ended up getting an SR from a 1998 180SX. That ran well for years, but the body started to deterioriate slowly. I thought I could revive it, but eventually gave in and got a new shell.
You can see in the above pic that the fender wells began to rip apart at the seam, and bondo was falling off of the car. It was in terrible shape. So, I tore it down and needed to transfer the parts to another shell. I wanted to start over and give life to another car that deserved it.
500 miles down south, my friend had this car. It was the exact color I wanted, it was nice and straight, clean inside and out. It was exactly what I pictured the last shell to look like in the future. My friend owned this car for years, and you can tell he loved it very much.
Then some tweeker thought it would be cool to steal his car. He got most of it back eventually, but the high value items were gone indefinitely. Then the shell sat for months and months.
So I decided...okay. I'm getting this. I have all the parts to put it back on the street, and definitely something that was a reflection of both cars.
So what happens when you put 6 months of blood, sweat, and tears worth of work and money, and combine the soul of both cars together?
You get this beautiful car...made entirely out of a small budget, leftover parts, and plenty of trips to the junkyard.
BEHOLD!
Majority of this build was done mostly with OEM parts from the junkyard or craigslist. This build characterizes the likeness of both cars and combines them into one.
I hope you all enjoy the pics, because I am definitely proud of how this car came out. If it wasn't for NICO, this literally would have never happened.
THANKS ALL!
