Hey guys, i just joined so this is my first post. I am getting(for free) a KA24DE with intake manifold + fuel rail etc, whole engine basically except the egr and i believe the exhaust manifold isnt included. I drive a 280zx so i have no interest in putting this in my car, but I was wondering the following:

1. Does someone make a mounting kit to swap this engine into something like a 510 or a 210 datsun, or anything small really?

2. Does someone make a carb kit for this engine? I dont want to swap this into a sleeper and have to rewired everything. I see that the dizzy runs straight off of the cam, if i have to use a computer i'd use megasquirt or something like that. I'm trying to keep this minimal. I'd rather put dual webers on it or something like that.

3. Can you recommend a parts supplier with a huge selection of aftermarket parts, performance parts preferably.

I appreciate any replies I get from this, since i know squat about ka24de's. Meanwhile I'll be searching the forum like I will be told to do probably:D .

Thanks for any help guys, if you want to add anything , feel free.

Edit: BTW, this is from a 95 altima i'm told.

you will need a ka that works with RWD transmission, from a 240sx or <?> pickup.i doubt u can drop an altima KA into a 510, but a 240 KA works and is common-Enzo

Theres a good site for you to check out.

Your altima engine will not suited for this, as it is fwd format, the block is different. It does have some good usable parts for hybriding and such.

You will need a ka and transmission in rwd form (2wd hardbody, 240sx). Ka24e and Ka24de are both options. That article above will be helpful.

Thats for a 510, but 1200, roadster, etc... have all been done semi-easily as well.

There is a dcoe/mikuni phh type carb manifold available for the ka24e, courtesy nissan carries it.

With the de you will be doing some custom manifold fabrication to run sidedraft carbs. Although you could run a v8 4bbl type carb with a truck intake manifold, has been done a few times.

I think you should keep with your megasquirt idea, and keep either engine efi. megasquirt is my management of choice :)

thanks for the replies guys. That sucks about the block having different mounting holes since it's fwd. If nothing else I'll use the engine for the pistons and make a stroker 3.1 for my z. Thanks again for your help :D
