Am I insane? I work in a local boneyard and we have the Frontier there. Does anyone have any experience in this type of thing? The Frontier is 4WD so I'm not sure what issues I'd run into putting it into a RWD car.

The frontier's engine is VG33E, correct? The older pathfinders had a VG30E from the old 300zx which was rwd. The vg30de was also used in the infiniti J30 which was rwd as well. I'm also fairly certain that the vg33de will swap into the pathfinder, so the swap you are takling about sounds feasible.

He means a VG33DE in a 240SX. I will tentatively say sure. I have heard of people putting 300ZX VG30DE's in, so I don't see why not. Be warned though, it is ALOT of work, and will require custom mounts. The wiring will be a nightmare as well.

As far as 4WD into RWD, I believe you will probably need a new transmission. Also I would do some homework and figure out if the 240's differential could handle this.

its the vg33er and its a wussy ole thing. less power than a stock redtop sr and more of a hassle to put in. i have driven the supercharged frontier and xterra. they are pigs.

What would be sweeter is to have a 4wd 240SX. Think about it, you couldn't drift, but you could ROCKET off the line. Hell, you could go rallying.

Next up: My S14 FWD swap. I can drive in the winter better, and save more powerloss to the driveline! Whoo hoo! ....oh wait.
