Greetings NICO Members,

I have owned my 02 Q45 for 10 days now and I am quite please with my purchase in general. These cars offer a lot for the money.

I have 2 questions / concerns I hope some one can help me with:

The first is about an ITB I have seen reference to and my car has, it is the rust on the door sash. Does any one know the details on the bulletin and what the fix is short of taking it to a stealer?

Second is a concern about a electronic whine my vehicle emits when tracton control takes over. If I hit a patch of ice I can hear a the whine as the car compinsates for the slippage. Is this normal?

Thanks for any advice you can offer

I live in Florida and so has my '02 Q so no rust issues. The whine your hearing is a hydraulic pump that turns on when the Traction control actuates. Perfectly normal.

03Q in NorCal, no rust issue. If you do have rust, there are rust removers in the market, $5 or more.

KTD,
I don't know how to upload attachments to posting but if you email me I can forward you instructions (PDF file) on the door sash repair.

thanks!

have had the Q since 05 and there are a LACK of aftermarket things because of the low number of 2002-06 that were sold. wich is ok.
I built this grille myself. I had a front end accident in 07 or so. Busted the drivers headlamp and the grille. Also tore a gouge in the IMPUL bumper. It was my fault and I have a 1000 deductable. Took the check and did the repairs myself. Got full credit for a new grille and new headlamp. I bought a pair of 05 headlamps for 850 (1 new is 1350) and ordered an aftermarket mesh grille for a Dodge Magnum. Had to do some cutting but I am pleased with the result. Especially since it sits inside the original trim. The IMPUL bumper is of such high quality (not fiberglass)- actually a little thicker than the factory bumper and made of the same material- that eventhough the bumper was totaled, I got a kid in a bodyshop school to take it in as a project. Did an amazing job.
