I read this weekend that a couple of weeks ago in Ohio a man owning a 1991 Honda Accord had a party thrown for him by the local Honda dealer for rolling over ONE MILLION MILES on his car!!! I couldn't believe it. In 10 years, he drove the car one million miles.

How many Infiniti owners here wanna top him??? :) I do.

Nick

There's several Benzes and Checkers, a Volvo or two and I think a few VW Beetles that have clocked a million...

I think a Q is MORE than capable if maintained to Dennis-like standards from day one. Maybe Brian (maxnix) would like to give it a shot since he has so few miles on his 95....

i've heard of a few different honda accords rolling over 1 million miles. that just proves that if a car is maintained, it can go literally, just about forever. if anyone on these boards tops that, WOW

You can hardly say Erv Gordon's 1966 Volvo 1800S Coupe is just a Long Island car!!! at over 2 million miles!!! (Irv's car in front of the Biltmore Estate, Asheveille, NC at the 1999 VSA East Coast Meet.)photo courtesy www.cabinnaise.com/vpage/irv.htm

As I understand it, the car was driven daily on a long turnpike commute for most of its life. Now the car has been crisscrossing the U.S. making appearances at and for Volvo events. That adds up mileage of course, and what better mileage to put on a car than with few(er) stops and open-road driving.

Mind you, I'm not knocking the man or the car. Erv is a REALLY, and GENUINELY, a nice guy. Besides, I have a '73 1800ES (sportwagon version of the coupe), so of course I'm biased.

Passing the 2-million mile mark was highly reported and was featured on one of those A.M. shows not too long ago.

Erv's car is currently in the Guinness Book as (c'mon Guinness, keep up here!!)::rolleyes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------"TRAVEL AND TRANSPORT << CARS << HIGHEST CAR MILEAGE Highest Car Mileage

The highest recorded mileage for a car is 2,719,800 km. (1,690,000 miles), for a 1966 Volvo P-1800S, owned by Irvin Gordon of New York, USA, as of February, 1999.

WHO: Irvin GordonWHEN: 1999WHERE: East Patchogue, United StatesWHAT: 1,690,000 miles(2,719,800 km)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOW C'MON FOLKS... LET'S PUT SOME DATSUNS IN THE RECORD BOOKS!!!

Hey Carl - You got any relatives (Hockett's) in NC or OH?

None I know of, but first of all, all Hockett's are related as I understand. There's like only a couple thousand of us. Plus, my ancestry traces back to North Cakalaky (as we army guys used to like to call the Carolinas). Way-Way back that is.

Your in Phoenix? I used to live in Tucson ('92-'94, UofA), Cornville ('88-'92, on Oak Creek), and Glendale (~'1960). Still have family and friends in the Sedona/Cottonwood area, and Tucson as well. Need to get out that way once in a while. Looooooong drive though.

Email me at [email protected] the execs are suggesting we look at making a west coast event, "something like Bowling Green". ???

Whoa! I graduated from UA in 94! Wife is Tucson native and I've been in NW Phoenix since 84...

Mom's a Hockett. Went to a reunion in NC in 92 and had a great time. E-me off-board and we'll see if we have any common relatives.
