I recently bought my first 240 (92 S13) and got the feva. I essentially haven't stopped working on this car since the first night it spent in my drive way.

My goals with this car for now is no more than 250 whp for a very streetable/occasionally autox'd car.

I've done lots of research regarding different brake setups for the beloved 240. For budgeting reasons primarily, I've decided on a 180sx style brake setup:

FRONT- Pre-2000 Maxima calipers front left and right (w/ accompanying bracketry and hardware) 2001 Nissan SE-R rotors Stainless steel brake lines High performance pads.

REAR- Stock s13 calipers?? Aftermarket high performance rotors for s13 Stainless steel brake lines High performance pads.

I've done tons of searching around different forums and online and can't find too much solid info about this setup (namely maxima calipers).

Is it plausible? Will keeping my rear calipers stock provide for too much braking bias? Will it be a safe and effective braking system?Any known sources for Maxima calipers (all online parts stores are crap)?

Thanks in advance for your input. I'm very grateful sites like nico exist (knowledge is power).

Honestly, I don't know about the fitment of the front brake conversion you're thinking of. But if you're concerned about braking balance, get yourself a good proportioning valve.

this. it's all bolt on, bigger than stock, just have to redrill rotors or convert to 5-lug.

Thanks yeah thats where I got my first idea about the maxima caliper setup.

After doing some more research I like the idea of the q45 set-up a little better. Definitely better availability of parts.

Any idea if for the front sentra rotors i can use spec-v rotors or just se-r rotors? Anyone have experience with this setup?

yup j30 or q45 is the cheapest upgrade out there, dont even worry about the rears because your not going to get significant stopping power from that until you upgrade to z32 rears

if your thinking about sentra calipers find the sentra se-R spec-V with brembos and swap those

Q45 brake would be good .. i have a 180sx ..and you always want more lol

but i'm gonna try out Hawk HPS pads front and back before i swap out my calipers.

right now .. with s***ty pads.. i still lock up the front wheels easy.

as for brake bias .. don't worry about it.. it's not even a issue here.

for the 180sx, it's all the same disc, calipers and pads from Altima 93 +.. sentra .. maxima .. same crap lol .. and i don't know why some people complain about the pads hanging of the rotors... i don't have that problem

Thanks for all the extra information. Q45 calipers it is. I'll figure out rotors once i get my calipers and theyre ready to go on.

I was having problems with my fuel pump (I believe) and it finally went out on me completely. Do these symptoms sound like a fuel pump failure?:

First noticed it on the freeway...car starts losing fuel supply doing about 75. As I lose speed and downshift, supply returns and I'm able to make it home. Next day I can barely make it to starbucks sputtering the whole way down the road. Car will intermittently lose fuel supply for a split second then return. Does this over and over again. Car sits for a couple days and I decide to take it around the block. Can't even make it down my street. Fuel cuts out bad and duration of loss is increased dramatically. With my foot mashed, motor revs for a split second then cuts out. Feels like a bogging out motorcycle. Eventually shudders and stalls out. Onset was sudden, and the problem part deteriorated quickly. Does this sound like a fuel PUMP issue or a fuel pressure regulator issue or something more involved??
