Thanks man. Welcome to NICO btw

I'll most likely attend a couple of the events at Zcar nationals as its going to be reasonably local to me this year. I doubt I'll be doing much more than the car show and possibly the banquet dinner as everything else is during the week and I'd rather spend my vacation time on going someplace out of town

Agreed. There's really not much of a comparison. The 240sx is a sporty car where as the 300zx is more of a sports car. Make sense?
hahaha doesnt make sense to me so i'll leave it at that

althought the 300zx is not a "true" sports car- stripped down of all luxuries and unnecessities- I think he means that the 240sx is a FWD little coupe that is moderately quick and nimble, reasonably priced, and a nice little car to have as say a DD.. the 300zx is, first of all, rear wheel drive which used to have way more power potential that front although fwd is catching up, it's suspension is tighter, motor is way more powerful and "tunable" parts are way more expensive, and although it's mainly a cruising car its capabilities on the track far surpass those of a 240sx- giving it a real sports car feel and look.

that's the best I can do to try to explain

^ hahaha 240's are rwd man

Without going off on a tangent, since this thread isn't about 240's vs 300's, there's a reason that the Z32 was slotted well above the s13 and s14. The s chassis cars are entry level sporty cars where as the Z32 was the halo sports car. That's like saying a camaro is more of a sports car than a corvette.

Granted all the drift and 240 fanboys will disagree....theres not really much of a comparision if you're being realistic. 240's are great cars, but they don't hold a candle to the Z cars.

i agree that i dont want this to turn into a 240 vs 300 debate. i feel that the z32 is a little on the heavy side and overpriced even though its far more powerful then a 240. if ur looking for just going in a straight line the z32 excels. the 240 is lighter, cheaper, easier to mod with readily available parts at lower prices then z32 parts (most of the time). from what i've seen of the z32s handling im not impressed. dont get me wrong, i like the z32 but prefer the 240 for the reasons stated above. for the price of what some z32s go for, you could buy an s13 and mod it to outperform the z. thats just my opinion

I'd second that...we have both for a direct comparison! Totally different cars and not really comparable at all, ergo the price difference when they were new.

Just joined the forum today and was so pleasantly surprised to see a warm friendly face (Jerry). I read your story again, looking at your pics and I don't know how I missed the story of your Father's passing in FZX. I'm so sorry for your loss, but was so touched by your devotion to your Dad. Just wanted to tell you that. Anyway, looks like cool forum and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

I'm always around the northern ohio area. If you're up in Cleveland let me know and I'll take you for a spin.
