my 240 billows plenty of white smoke through the exaust but it is not overheating. Is it a head gasket problem or is it something else?

white smoke usually means headgasket, to check, with the car off and engine cold (not run for a while) remove the radiator cap, start the car and look for bubbles in the coolant, bubbles = blown headgasket

yep its cold here(quite pressin actually) and whenever i stop the car the car shakes like when you dont step on the clutch when you stop, but my car is an automatic, i can remedy the problem with shifting to nuetral but it gets irritating, O2 sensor probably?

scan for trouble codes to confirm a bad o2 sensor/disconnected wire...

i doubt that it is the cause of your problem.

u can do what ex stated + u can actually "smell" the sweetness of the exhaust if u have antifreeze in the exhaust... don't be "huffing it"

navy stated when it's kinda cold outside, it's assuming just condensation-mainly.

trouble code scan would be a start.

my car does the same thing, but for me its because im running way to rich, damn wether changes. every time I set the timing so I dont run so rich it gets colder or hotter And I end up having to reajust it again. I wish it would make up its mind.
