The first 5 photos are from the "body" shop area of the plant. The gloves and sleeves they wear are part Kevlar to prevent cuts and abrasions. Before the metal is painted, its VERY sharp. You notice in the pictures after the vehicle is painted, nobody is wearing those sleeves.

You'll also notice no one has any exposed metal on their pants (rivets), fingers (rings, removed or covered with gloves), wrists (watches) etc to prevent paint scratches.

I have a scar on my right forearm from an Altima quarter skin. I was working in a Nissan warehouse at the time. They got the Kevlar sleeves the next week.

I have a former coworker that was picking up a door with no kevlar gloves. Not paying close attention, he shoved part of the inside door opening between his fingers. It almost cut a tendon in two before he pulled his hand back out. Had to go through physical therapy after having his fingers immobilized for a lengthy period of time while the tendon healed. He also got a stern talking to for being stupid.
