Well guys first off I'm no wiring expert, so with that said, I need help. I finished up the lower harness and the r33 cluster conversion (on my S14) and started to tackle the upper harness f4/m63 work. I sat down in the floor bored looking at the F4 and on the first step of Ehacker01's guide I noticed I had a problem. So I took the F4 plug off the skyline interior harness and plugged in the r33 M63 to figure out my problem. And as you can see in the pic there is the red wire on the f4 plug but nothing on the m63 side(the 4th pin down)? Where should the red wire go. this car ran in Japan before it was cut and chipped so I'm confused. there appear to be no tampering except the adding of a turbo timer. please help, I mean am I just stupid and looking at something wrong or do i have a problem? Thanks alot guys! you've got me this far now I just want her to turn on not even crank lol I'll be happy with ON.

to prevent confusion I want to point out again that both plugs in the picture are from the R33 skyline and all colors line up, I'm not planning on using that plug but I connected it just to figure out the problem and noticed the red wire (ignition relay I believe) is missing from the M63 plug but pressent on the F4 again BOTH skyline plugs. Thanks guys I know I'll find some advice

man, I have no clue. I didn't get a full clip so I only had one side of the plug. can you trace it back to the source or is it cut somewhere?

I was hoping to get you attenion ehacker01, I will have to trace the wire back through the interior harness to see what exactly it went to. But can't you tell me what the 4th pin is supose to be. I mean your guide even says there is suppose to be a red wire there, I just don't remember which one, so I don't know what I'm missing. so I guess my questions is what should be there?

well according to my pinout, that 4th pin should go to one of the blue/white relays I believe. Not sure why its not there though. should be constant power to the relay I believe.

no idea as to what relay. I will sit down and go through all the harness but looking at my upper I only have one relay. so no one knows for sure what wire goes here? thinking the wire that is "missing" should be red i looked at the ecu plug and found no red wire ? I'm lost at this point.

ps. Ehacker is your guide upside down? I was talking with another friend that used it and he noticed the same thing. it appears the image of the plug (numbers wize) is flipped. IDK I just remember that coming up.

----PLEASE HELP----

I don't think so. It is looking at the wire side, not the plug side.

ehacker was your guide made for the series II ? And no matter what shouldn't there be a wire on the M63 plug side in pin 4 according to your guide? I'm just trying to get everything strait in my head so thanks for helping me here man

If you are missing the relay also(there should be 2 total near the ECU), maybe the relay and wire got pulled out.

From what me and Spazz can figure out we think it is the ignition relay. I have all the wiring from the clip inside and out so I will need to lay it all out this weekend and see what I've got hopefully it will be simple as plugin the wire back in , repinning the other wires according to your guide and turning her on (not cranking yet) but I just want to see if the R33 cluster wiring guide I followed was correct and everything turns on.

- does anyone know if the IGN relay is indeed pin 4 ?

Yes pin4 should be red and it is for the ignition relay (switched power)

just got done chatting with Jon P and he has straightend me out. A series II only has one relay near the ECU not two. so now we are closer to figuring this out, Ehacker01 are you SURE this guide will work for both series I and II?

-OK so here is what I am thinking. If the series II does not have a IGN Relay and that is what pin 4 should be...... doesn't it make since that there is no wire in pin 4???

ok well on my quick pass , the colors on your guide matched up perfectly to the colors on my m63 plug. So am I dumb to think your guide would work maybe just minus the first step?

I guess I'll use the s14 F4 pinout on rb25det.org and my ECU pinout and follow them all from the ecu and figre out what goes to where. Do all the wires to the m63 plug come through the ECU plug or do some come from other locations?
