a little sr help please

I cant seem to find specs on spark plug gaps.... s13 red top. is it 1.02 mm?

also, after starting the car, I have zero electronics working until I rev the engine over 2 grand. I'm assuming that the battery may be under charged and as the alternator starts making power these items start working. is there some kind of voltage regulater that drops power to acessories when voltage is low? I picked up this car from a hack-job, and I'm just starting to tackle all of these type of projects.

also, I was told that the ka vss would work w/ this transmission. when I went to install it, it was completely different from the s13 sr one.. any ideas? btw. I bought one for a s14 ka. should I have got the s13?

Bump.I have the same questions. I need to replace the VSS on my S13 and when I ordered the S14 KA VSS it looks completely different. Can I pull the gear off of the S13 SR VSS? The S14 KA VSS didn't come with one. I have pics of the S14 if it would help clarify.

The stock equivalent plug for our cars is the NGK BCPR7E-11. They come pre-gapped from NGK at .044"

You try running a .044" gapped plug in your SR20DET and see how much it likes it. Hint; you'll get blowout at stock boost near redline. Higher than stock boost and you don't stand a chance of getting over 4500-5000rpm.

vss I'm guessing refers to speed sensor? I used the s13 vss and it fit fine, the s14 one, you'll have to try out. The electronics not coming on past 2k couldn't be your battery, if your motors started, the power's coming from your alternator. Pull it and see if it's working

yeah. I already fixed those things. I know what gap to run as well. all I really need to know is, will a s13 ka vss work in my s14 w/ s13 sr.

s13 vss will work in s13 transmission, ka or sr.

I used an S14 vss in my S13 SR. I also gap my plugs to .028.

It all worked pretty good for me.

Hey guys I'm having a similar problem. My speedometer seems way off after swapping in an '97 s14 sr into my '92 240sx. it seems to be showing half the speed i am actually going (ex: shows 30 when I'm really going 50-60). I am using the stock s14 sr VSS. should i swap it out and put in my '92 KA VSS?

yes, swap to the KA VSS. This will solve your problem. The SR VSS is geared totally different and does not provide the appropriate signal for the us gauges. If you were using an s14 jdm cluster it would be right on though.
