well its been long over due.. so i took the 2 cars out yesterday and went to town on both of them. i wetsanded and buffed and then polished and waxed the 280 and daym! it came out lookin like a million bucks. on the 350 i used this producked called swirl remover from 3M and then waxed it... it hasnt looked that good since the day i bought it... this whole cleaning craze came about i guess last week when i helped my good friend Dale with his car.. his car was bady oxidixed and had some serious hard water stains but when we were done it came out awsome.... well enough of the stoy heres some pics...

thanks guys.. i was really surprised how good the cars came out.. but it did take a lot of work.. i mean the red car took a whole day by it self but as you can see the work was well worth it.. my silver 280ZX didnt need it that much but it did take a lot of the little scratches off and now its got a deeper shine to it.. the black 350 just needed to have the swirls removed.. i used 3Ms swirl remover and a polishing pad for my buffer and man.. did that thing do the trick.. it came out as good as the day i bought the car...

heres the step by step process how we did the 240Z..

Products used:

1. professional buffer 1000 – 3000 RPM2. compound pad and polishing pad for the buffer3. 2000 grit wet sand paper and sanding block4. 3M Perfect-It II 3000 rubbing compound5. 3M Perfect-It II swirl remover or Meguiars #2 fine cut cleaner6. Meguires #7 show car Glaze7. a lot of micro-fiber towels

1. wash the car making sure to remove as much dirt as possible.

2. wet sand the car with 1500 or 2000 grit but be careful not to sand too much or you will go through the paint

3. rinse the car down and let dry

4. using the compound pad, buff the car with 3M “Perfect-It II 3000” rubbing compound

5. using the polishing pad, buff the car with Meguiars #2 Fine Cut Cleaner or 3M Perfect-It II Swirl Remover.

6. wash the car again

7. using another polishing pad, Buff with Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze.

8. wax the car. I recommend using carnauba wax..

9. step back and admire the fine work you did..

That 280zx has the best body kit made for it. That is the hottest car of the group. Nice color too. I had that wing on one of my ZXs. Love it. I would love to get another 280zx (turbo) and build it. So I keep my eyes open for a good project car. Love your 280zx!
