A little RB25DET help please!

ok so im putting in a RB in my 91' coupe but the RB harness is all butchered and im trying to order a new one through nissan but they need the year, model, trans,trim,ect. and the block stamp isn't helping for some reason. so my question, is there a way to tell off the ecu and if so how.

any help would be amazing, thanks!

oh by the way its a series 1 engine and the guy at the dealership says there is about 10 different part #s for the s1 rb25det with manual trans.

Honestly man you'd probably be better off either a) contacting a importer and seeing if they have a parts motor you might be able to snap the harness off of b) contacting some of the guys from the RB forums. I know Carl H personally and he could probably salvage your harness (for a fee of course). Mine was butchered all to hell on my RB20 and he had it cleaned up and my car ran like a champ after that.

i would try to salvage it but they cut off the ecu plugs so i dont have them

Holy crap...they cut the harness at the ECU connector? Where the heck did you get this motor from? If you got it from an importer, I would demand something be done about it. As far as sourcing another, probably gonna be kind of difficult, though I had some luck in the past. Get it touch with JHOT Imports, they had a couple parts motors back in the day I used to rob quite frequently. You might find some luck there. Also check out the RB forums and get in touch with Carl H. He may be able to help you out, not sure how much he can do with your given situation.

Wow like its even that hard to get the freaken ecu plug out of the firewall.

Pretty crappy man, i would give a call to the importer and either get some money back or get a new harness. I mean if its buyer be ware then it sucks, but most companies are trying to give you the full swap so they can charge top dollar for the engine.

the importer gave me back $500 so i wouldn't have to kill anyone but couldn't get me a new harness
