I've noticed a thin coating of oil throughout my intake tubing. I think maybe my turbo has a bad seal or something, because i gave my MAF a cleaning and idle was nice and perfect until I hit some boost. Now i guess the maf is coated again and the idle is back to around 1000RPM. I'm not worried about the idle though, I'm more worried that my turbo is leaking and may be on it's way to failure.

Anybody have any helpful info on this kind of situation? maybe it's time to rebuild or swap the turbo...?

what kind of turbo is it? how old? are you running a restrictor on the feed line? how long have you used the turbo for?

Rebuilding it shouldn't be hard at all if it's the seals. Total cost of about 140, includign having the wheels shipped to TurboCity.com and balanced and shipped back together with a rebuild kit.

Great rebuilding articles have been posted (by yours truly) in the KA-T section. Look up "turbo rebuild"... ah hell, I'll do it for ya.Here it is:http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=93930

Yeah it woudl seem a rebuild coudl do it. Now you have to make the decision between looking for a new T3 for a slightly higher price, or a new T3/T4 for an even slightly higher price. In my situation, my t3 cost me $100, plus rebuild of $150, which is a $250 turbo. You could get a brand new T3 for that money and not ever have to touch it for a long time.

Also don't dismiss my mention of a oil feed restrictor, everyone should be running one, even with a -3AN feed line.
