knock sensor:

Oreillys Auto parts carries BWD (Borg Warner dist.) Knock sensor for half the price of the Nissan brand. now here is the catch, once you open the box, the sensor is a JECS made in japan with the Nissan stamp on it.

As far as the harness, they sell the pigtail for $5 which you can splice/solder into the gray oval plug.

Also the injector harness/plug off of most VOLVO's will plug into the knock sensor and injectors, and and the difference is the Nissan plug uses a silly U shaped annoying clip, vs. the Volvo ( which is essentially a common BOSCH style) style plug has a U shaped clip however it has a push/squeeze type clip, thus is easy to plug/unplug most square Nissan harness's.

i just picked up a knock sensor from Oreillys and a Volvo BOSCH style harness which i will use for my relocation of the sensor. cost $50. harness free from my previous Volvo. :bigthumb:

Thanks a ton for this info!

No offense though but do you think that BWD just sells knock off of the Nissan sensors? Meaning the they look the same but the quality isn't? I ask because on a G50 Q45 they are not easy to replace.

Hi, nope i have checked it all out, its OEM Nissan, many of these aftermarket brands, like BWD, Direct import, and Beck Arnely use the OEM parts and re package them under their license, in order to raise their sales and availability.

he BWD brand, has the same color dot, same logo and same serial numbers, same construction and material used.
They even sell the pig tail for approx. $5 which you would have to solder it to the connector, and for $14 you can buy the oem harness.

Its all about who comes out on the top in these aftermarket companies, and stay ahead in the game.

I know i was an employee ;)
