ok, I have a '93 240sx. It's stock except for the exhaust and headers. I plan on putting a cold-air intake in it soon and want to add a body kit as well. I do most of the work myself, I have a friend who works on cars, and would like some advice on what to do. For now I'm looking to spend 1k on the intake and kit as well as anything else that needs to be done.

Welcome to NICO...

Search this site by either using the search button in the upper right corner of the window, or just browse all the 240sx forums. What are you planning on doing with it - daily driver, autocross, turbo, NA...plan all that out then you can find all the info you need on this forum to build either a strong NA engine or put together a turbo setup.

First make sure it is running good...so get the basic tune up out of the way (plugs/wires, belts, oils/fluids, etc, etc).

KA's are strong, able to hold over 600hp on a stock bottom end. KA-T's are getting more popular, but a lot of people go with one of the popular engine swaps. It's all covered - go get a snack and do some research.

Oh yeah...Body kits are a PITA. I would spend all the money you are planning on spending on body work to get it running in top shape and start with mods. I spent almost $4k on body work, and now I wish I would have spent it on something better...

Right now I just want to use it for normal every day driving and the occasional race with a buddy.

*the ka will hold 300hp on stock bottom end, not 600.you'd rather think about making it NA or turbo, cause in the long run cold air/header wont fit on a turbo:).

but yeah get an lsd.
