OK guys and gals,I do not mean to bore the hell out of ya'll but I need a little advise . So here goes. I have a 89 240sx hatchback with 131K miles on it . It is burning oil it is either leaking by the valve seats or the piston rings. I would like to rebuild the engine and add a turbo to it ,but I am unsure on whether rebuild with stock parts (to save a little money ) or replace with H.P. parts. If i rebuild with stock parts will they hold up to the pressure of the turbo. I do not want to replace the engine with another one from a wreck or anything, i'll just use the engine thats in there. Has anyone out there ever done this before and if so what were the results. I am thinking that if it is the valve seals that are bad then i'll just have a valve job done on it . Or should I go ahead and replace the piston rings while I am at it ? What other parts should I replace ?

I really thank you all for being here to answer these questiONS

well to start off first... Stock internals on a KA are good for 10lbs of boost... although i had a friend of mine dyno on 3 runs on 14 lbs with out hurting anything and produced 345hp and 347lbs of trq... if you want to boost it.. the parts you would want to replace would be... rocker arms, valve springs, piston heads, piston rings, connectiong rod bearings and oil pump... but thats providing you want to boost over 10.. wish trust me.. you will... if you want to go all stock which would be cheaper. then get a valve job done and while your at it.. have it ported...and replace the rings but beware that you can't run past 10 with out hurting things...
