A little help here, Please

I am going for a swap and I am leaning toward The S14 SR20 top notch. I am assuming bigger injectors and better turbo I will push about 260hp. But what I want to know is the overall potential these motors have. I plan on spending some money on my swap so I just want to go with the most for my money. I was reading the rb26 can go up to 1400hp, wow. I don't want 1400hp but the potential is amazing and I wanted to know the potential of the sr20 S14 top notch. I am aiming for 450hp. Suspension and brakes are already done now it need some power. Some info or help in the right direction would be very much appreciated. I have used search and still have not found what I am looking for.
