I had my dealership pull the service records on an F50 I was looking at, an '02 sport w 41K, and came across several strange service notations:

-7 and 41 miles, battery replaced,

-7864, BCM and mirror control units replaced,

-7864, brought in with a "rumble," added fuel system cleaner per ITB02-49

-11,665, "oil screen" cleared?

-15,790, engine oil system flush

-22,650, 2 wheels noted as bent

-22,650, "Engine malfunction reading" (CEL?), notes "no codes in system, see attached" - no attached

-30,176, another engine flush

-31,242, all 4 wheels noted as bent

-38,639, tech notes need for new rotors, belts, transmission flush, and another battery.

This is an early '02, with a 5/01 delivery date, which I think accounts for a lot of the issues. The car has been fully dealer maintained, as indicated by the service records, proper OCIs maintained always. Obviously the car needs new wheels, all fluids flushed and filled, belts and rotors and I assume tires along with other standard maintenance. The car is not worth its asking price with the present issues and the engine flushes worry me.

Any thoughts?

Multiple engine flushes make me think that they were chasing an oil consumption issue. Maybe a theory that it was a stuck ring or carbon?

Cleaning the "oil screen" sounds like the oil pick-up, but unless it never had an oil change in it's 11K miles, I can't imagine what would have sludged it up. Getting to that point sounds like there was an oil starvation issue. In any case it sounds like this Q has has a hard life...

It might be worth contacting the dealership to find out why they would have done these engine flushes.

Ditto. NY94J30, if you haven't bought this car already, you probably shouldn't. Sounds like there were some concerning problems. Whether it was oil consumption or oil starvation, it still ain't worth the risk to your wallet.
