I have read the very informative thread on the dead blower motor problem and the fan control amp module that causes the problem. I had the problem and replaced the module, it worked for 30 minutes and then died again. I have discovered that the thermal cutoff opened up.

I have bypassed the cutoff and the blower works again however the heat sink gets too hot to touch in just 10 minutes of operation. I really don't think that the mosfet should run that hot and I am concerned that I might burn up some wiring.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks
Tom G.

Motor is too hot, too much current, check regulator, thermal resistances and connections. Measure input voltage.
