A little alternator replacement help needed

So I am trying to replace the alternator on my 02. Nissan would have had to try pretty hard to stick this thing in a more inconvenient place.

Anyway, I cannot get the dang wiring plug disconnected. It looks like you depress a tab on the connector, and pull the connector out, but that aint workin. Is there something special about getting this connector off?

Otherwise , its ready to pull out.

Page EL-5 of the factory service manual may provide some insight if you can determine the type of connector. I don't know what type it is off-hand, sorry.
